It all began in 1995, entirely through self-teaching. Using biology books, Júlio Silveira sought to understand trees in their essence. Thus began the Brazilian's journey in the art of bonsai.

In 1998, determined to deepen his knowledge, he took a six-lesson course with Professor Eloá Levandóviski in Porto Alegre. That same year, she invited him to join the Associação Bonsai Sul (Southern Bonsai Association), an important milestone that intensified his studies and technical development. A proponent of yamadori (tree harvesting), Júlio has accumulated numerous stories of tree collecting, some of which are still part of his collection, such as the emblematic pitanga tree collected in 1998 on a hill in the region.

In 2000, he participated for the first time in a major national event in Mandaguari, at the Bonsai Center Romagnole, returning for two more editions and making contact with national and international artists. In 2003, he went to Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, to participate as a demonstrator in the Bonsai 2003 event, organized by bonsai artist Mário Leal.

His technical development continued steadily. In 2015, he began a three-year training program at the Top Bonsai School, run by Daniel Haetinger. In 2019, he went to Italy to further his studies with Mauro Stemberger, expanding his aesthetic and technical vision within the international context.

Also in 2015, in the city of Pato Branco, he founded the Yujin Bonsai School. In 2017, he expanded his activities by opening classes in Porto Alegre.

Even while working professionally, participating in events as a demonstrator and teaching workshops, Júlio maintains a commitment to continuous learning. Since 2023, he has been part of the Carlos Tramujas Advanced Bonsai School at Bonsai do Campo, in Porto Amazonas.

As a true artist, designer, and bonsai enthusiast, in 2015 he spent time in the countryside of São Paulo, away from traditional cultivation, when he began his research with wire trees. Using metal wires, he develops striking and highly artistic works, creating trees that spring directly from his imagination.

With a simple and serene style, Júlio Silveira has established himself as one of the great talents of Brazilian bonsai, surprising the public with technically refined creations and imprinting his aesthetic identity on trees with a strong visual impact.
