The Taiwanese bonsai artist Chou Yuan Peng, is one of the great emerging stars of contemporary bonsai worldwide. And this will be his first time in Latin America as a demonstrator.
Also known in the West as Sean ChouHe is a renowned Taiwanese bonsai artist and grower with a solid practical background and a deep connection to the Japanese tradition of this ancient art. Originally from Taiwan, Chou is responsible for... Huajingyuan Bonsai Garden, located in the district of Beitou, in Taipei, a reference in the cultivation and development of trees of high artistic quality.
His training includes a pivotal period in Japan, where he studied bonsai for five years at the renowned Taishoen nurseryunder the guidance of Taiga Urushibata, delving into classical Japanese techniques and aesthetic principles before returning to Taiwan.
Chou Yuan-Peng is Instructor accredited by the All Japan Miniature Bonsai Association. and acts as judge and member of committees from the Chinese Bonsai Art National AssociationThis recognition reinforces its technical and institutional relevance in the Asian context.
In his artistic and philosophical approach, Chou combines Japanese aesthetic precision with Taiwanese botanical sensitivity, seeking to express the harmony between nature and art. His work values not only the final form of the tree, but the entire process of coexistence, care, and transformation—translating patience, respect for life, and a profound connection with time.
In addition to creating and showcasing bonsai of the highest technical and aesthetic quality, he acts as Technical consultant for the Taipei Bonsai Association, contributing to training, judging at exhibitions, and strengthening cultural exchange in the art of bonsai in Taiwan.
Internationally, he participated in the WORBAC International Bonsai Artfest in China in October 2025—alongside Carlos Tramujas—and, in February of this year, he returns to Europe for the second time, where he will participate in the VII UBE Bonsai Convention 2026, promoted by... Spanish Bonsai Union.
