Latin American and Caribbean Bonsai Federation

FELAB was founded in February 1992 in Cali, Colombia, with the participation of representatives from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Peru, Uruguay and Colombia. Currently, the federation has representatives from 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, consolidating itself as the main organization in the region dedicated to the art of bonsai.

As the only representative of Latin America in the World Bonsai Friendship Federation (WBFF), FELAB plays a crucial role in the promotion and development of this art on a global scale. Its efforts include the organization of educational, cultural and technical events, always with the aim of fostering the exchange of knowledge and integration among members.

Among the highlights of his performance is the International Bonsai Congress, held every two years. This itinerant event is held each year in a different country, bringing together thousands of participants, including renowned artists, enthusiasts and bonsai organizations from all over the world, and is a vital platform for learning and promoting the art of bonsai in the region.

XIV FELAB Congress 2024

Now in its 14th edition, the FELAB International Bonsai Congress, was held from March 21 to 24, 2024, in the Dominican Republic. The event brought together renowned professionals in the art of bonsai, both from Latin America and other countries, in a remarkable celebration that combined demonstrations, workshops and a large exhibition.

Bonsai professionals from countries such as Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, United States and Korea, who shared techniques and experiences in live presentations, promoting a rich cultural and artistic exchange. The congress exhibition attracted a large audience, consolidating the event as an important event in the international bonsai calendar.

FELAB continues to work to strengthen the practice of bonsai through initiatives such as workshops, conferences, access to specialized materials, and partnerships that promote the sustainability and growth of this ancient art.
