Václav Novák: A bonsai visionary and global ambassador.

Václav Novák, born on January 27, 1952 in the Czech Republic, dedicated his life to the art of bonsai. His journey, from a technical school student to a renowned international expert, is a true testament to passion and commitment.

After completing his studies in waterway transport at a technical school, Vaclav began his career as a machine operator on a boat on the Labe River. Later, he worked in a glass factory in Libochovice before returning to his passion for boats. However, in 1990, his life took a decisive turn when he founded the... Bonsai Centrum in his hometown of Libochovice. Together with his partner, Karel Kalouš, Vaclav established gardens, developed a nursery and, naturally, began cultivating bonsai trees.

As his passion for bonsai grew, Václav decided to dedicate himself fully to this art from 1999 onwards. He immersed himself deeply in the world of bonsai, honing his skills until he became a true master.

Václav Novák's influence and expertise in bonsai have transcended national borders. He has organized seminars, demonstrations, and exhibitions of his trees not only in the Czech Republic but also in various countries around the world. His talent has already been showcased. in England, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, the United States, Vietnam, China, among many others.

His interest in bonsai was sparked by a lecture given by Mr. Hideo KatoVáclav, from Japan, during an event held in Prague in 1982. What began as a hobby soon turned into a lifelong pursuit, establishing Václav as a prominent figure in the global bonsai community.

Václav Novák's dedication to bonsai went beyond his personal activities. In 1990, he co-founded the Bonsai Club Libochovice, promoting a spirit of community and exchange among art enthusiasts in the region. Their enthusiasm and desire to spread bonsai culture and aesthetics led to the creation of... Czech Bonsai AssociationIn 1997, Václav was elected president of the association. This step marked the beginning of a profound impact on the development of bonsai in the Czech Republic and its integration into the culture of bonsai. European Bonsai Association (EBA) in 1998.

His contributions were especially recognized at the 19th EBA-ESA Congress, held in Jihlava in 2003, successfully organized by the Czech Bonsai Association. His work in promoting the art and culture of bonsai was further recognized when he was elected technical advisor and member of the EBA board during the organization's 20th Congress, held in San Marino in May 2004.

This artist's passion for bonsai and his commitment to sharing knowledge have earned him the prestigious titles of instructor and director of BCI (Bonsai Clubs International), further reinforcing his role as a global ambassador for bonsai.
